The Moon and Mercury


The Moon is reckoned, by me, to be the alchemy of air into water, literally the shaping of the whole self from the parts of the self. This creates the space with which to feel emotion, and with which to accommodate and nurture others, and so grow oneself.


Mercury is reckoned to be the alchemy of water into air, literally the creation of parts of the self from the whole, this makes Mercury the planet of learning, and of the curiosity and questioning to achieve that.


The complementary natures of the Moon and Mercury, as processes, mean that they reinforce one another, and we might expect the individual with Moon conjunct Mercury to possess an above average However, the indication with Planetary Pairs is of some extraordinary ability, or lack thereof.


It is an unfortunate fact of doing Astrology, that many people take no notice of the times that events occur, and without the time of birth, it is impossible to be certain of someone's Moon position accurately enough. This makes this list shorter than it really should be. For this same reason, I have included all the other Moon conjunction examples here.


Also, there is an inherent bias to be aware of; in all such lists, the origin of the data is generally from among the famous. This does not invalidate it, but is something to take notice of.
