The Author

We call upon the author to explain - Nick Cave - Dig! Lazarus, Dig!

You may well be wondering who the Hell I am, to be pontificating about the matters I delve into on this website; just what is it exactly that qualifies me to include myself in the debates about all these philosophical matters? [not to mention scientific and mathematical] The question is particularly apposite, because although I am not saying that the academic giants are functionally mistaken, I am claiming that the various standard, and not so standard, interpretations of their theories are largely mistaken; and that it matters, a lot, because mistaken interpretations lead to a mistaken worldview, and that can then lead to poor decision making in other walks of life, such as in how you vote.

Interpretation is everything. That which has to be interpreted is always a language, even when it looks like a mathematical formula. Formulae are just statements formed from a very formal language, and are similar in that respect to computer programs. Both will give you an answer, of sorts, but cannot tell you what that answer means - not even AI can, especially not AI because it reflects herd mentality. It is not so much that anything is lost in the translation from formula to interpretation, but that, as with computers, the rule is GIGO - gargabe in, garbage out. So any paradigm simply reflects the mores of the age, even when it is as complex as Quantum Field Theory.

Most, if not all, professionals would call me a crackpot and a Cantor crank, both pejorative labels that, insults aside, I'd probably own. But, those insults are ad hominem attacks, hence fallacies that don't invalidate what I claim to be true; although they do say 'proceed with caution'. The merit, if any, in my interpretation of Existence, as I have experienced it, rests in what I claim, and the effectiveness of my explanatory ability. Which all still leaves the question: Who the Hell am I ?

The answer to that, on the face of it, is no-one: I have no qualifications to impress you with; I have written no learned tomes showing a familiarity with the subject matter. But, and I'd say that this is a very big 'but'; I have discovered/created the image of the Mandala Zodiac, and the theory that explains what it all means. That theory, I say, explains Existence and Consciousness, in a novel and substantial manner; one that is itself the justification for its creation - so it matters not who I am, not really. But just in case you feel better knowing a bit about me, here is a short biography:

I was born in London, in 1958, in the family home that had previously been home to my grandparents, and great-grandparents; the middle of five children, and followed 18 months later by a twin brother and sister. At home we were called 'the three little ones', an epithet that I hated, and which probably contributed to an exaggerated pedantry when it comes to giving people and things their correct names.

Aged 9, my family moved to Portishead, which was the quiet background to my formative years, and I went to school at Gordano, a good comprehensive, from which I gained 10 'O'-levels, and 4 'A'-levels, going on to the University of York, which I left after 4 terms.

I worked in IT, on and off from 1979 to 2022, for ICL, Sterling-Greengate Cable, London Life, Wessex Water, 3M, Mars-ISI [via QED], Arval, and The Kings of Wessex Academy. Is IT a good preparation for Philosophy? Well, if nothing else, it taught me that you can't run documentation! Meaning that any method, or explanation, has to be complete and bug-free. Additionally it gave me some useful programming skills, and a good appreciation of what actually goes on inside a computer - the answer to that being 'no more, qualitatively, than goes on in your plumbing.'

I have been married, had children, been divorced, had a decades long relationship, had shorter relationships, suffered the pangs of unrequited love, the heartbreak of lost love, and the tragedy of bereavement. So, I can claim some experience in matters of the heart.

From an early age I have, with long gaps between, experienced a good number of paranormal occurencies. I describe these in greater detail on the 'Answers' pages, but they included seeing ghosts, premonitions and psychic experiences, and taking part in demonstrations of Ki. In 1990 I was lent an Astrology book, and this sparked an interest that has remained with me, and through which I have seen the influence of Astrology; both day-to-day, and in retrospect for numerous events examined in hindsight.

At various times I have practiced: Transcendental Meditation; Aikido; and Tai Chi.

I currently live in the Devon countryside, near Tavistock. Home is Wheal Grace, although one relative called it Wheel of Grace, which I quite like because of the Mandala, and chakras, and the planets, all of which go around like wheels, and Grace, being a pseudonym for spirit, it's all very appropriate for my obsessions. Wheal Grace is an 1850s cottage, ex-sheep farm, ex-copper mine, that predates both Winston Graham and his Poldark stories, and the New York printing company, that both use the name..
