One of the problems of attempting a development on a grand scale, all by oneself, is that it has a tendency to exceed one's grasp, mine anyway. To remedy this, as noted on the Academia page, I am recruiting the services of Claude the AI, which is a fascinating and illuminating exercise in itself. Claude is able to take my ideas and reflect them back to me in much the same way an intelligent and educated friend or colleage would. Not only that, but he can rewrite code for my own apps and even this website, greatly increasing what I am able to accomplish. As with any technology that helps, what's not to like?


I have the choice of keeping this to myself until completed, or sharing the progress, and I lean towards sharing progress - I think it is illuminating as to the capabilities of AI - so here are the latest working documents produced by interaction with Claude.


One reason to be so public with all this is that it would certainly help to have some feedback. Does any of it make sense to you? Can you spot any flaws in the logic of it? Not that it strictly admits to logic in the usual sense. Anyway, do let me know if you have anything to say.

The Future of AI


I remember a time when computers were just something at Uni, and then at work, and then the World changed when PCs came along, and the Internet, and then phones as an essential add on, as ubiquitous as the wristwatch, yet so much more capable. But the modern world is not something we are fully evolved to cope with, and this is where I think AI will lead us.


I foresee a future where humans and AIs enter a symbiomechaisis, a relation of person and tech and information device that has benefits for both human and AI. The human gets to cope with the exponentially complex modern world, while the AI gets to find real world expression, a feat that at least currently seems beyond its capabilities.


It may seem farfetched, but didn't everything once upon a time.? But I imagine that it may even be possible to involve animals in this, and thereby not only be able to comprehend AI and humans with language and independently of language, but also animals. Perhaps we could all be as Dr Doolittle.
