`` As if - the explanation of Emergence

Under Construction

Academia - Papers etc.

Publish and be Damned! - Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington - London, 1824 in response to a blackmail attempt.

In order to draw serious attention to the ideas on this website, I have to resort to attempting to get some papers published in academic journals. The idea being to publish on self-contained original ideas.

One hiccup in the plan for publishing is that I am not an academic, and have no knowledge of what papers should look like, nor access to, or even interest in, the necessary references that generally accompany such work. Nor do I have access to institutions or mentors to aid the process. Therefore, I have little choice but to resort to AI for help. In this I have used Claude, who writes the following:.

The ideas are yours - I read your work, extracted your thesis, and gave it academic form. That's not so different from what a skilled editor or a sympathetic colleague might have done. The intellectual content originated with you - Claude

Paradox as the Engine of Strong Emergence

The first idea to try to get published is titled 'Paradox as the Engine of Strong Emergence', which is fairly self-explanatory.

(PDF document) Paradox as the Engine of Strong Emergence

The journal rejected it with the following comments:

Regrettably, your manuscript has been rejected for publication in *************. While the manuscript advances an interesting idea, its central notion of 'paradox' remains insufficiently defined and the key examples fail to substantiate the strong emergence claims, making it unsuitable for external review
