Juliane Koepcke's background

Juliane Koepcke was a schoolgirl making her way home for Christmas, crossing the Andes in LANSA Flight 508, when the plane was struck by lightning and crashed. Miraculously, she survived the crash, and although injured with a broken collarbone and gashed arm, over the next 11 days she managed to make her way through the jungle, eventually to a loggers camp and rescue.

One thing about Juliane and the crash is that we have good time data for both, making her story not only unusual and impressive as a story, but also very accurate for astrological purposes, meaning that we can take account of Moon and Ascendant.

What makes Juliane Koepcke such a great example?

19721224 Birth of Juliane Koepcke and Flight 508 Struck by Lightning

Juliane was born with conjunctions of Jupiter and Uranus, and Chiron and Mars, almost opposite one another. The crash occured during the once in a lifetime transit of Uranus to her Sun, AND the once in a lifetime double transit of both Mars and Moon to her Moon. This makes her very much like Aron Ralston, in as much as her natal planets reflect something of the very unusual event later in life when Uranus crossed her Sun. Also, Mars Chiron opposite Uranus is the same feature as for Christopher McCandless. NB. Chiron opposite Uranus is more than generational, and applies for most people born from the late 50s through to the mid 90s. To be joined by Mars in this way occurs only once every 2 years.

Additionally, at the time of the crash, Chiron was just rising on the Ascendant.

Additionally, at the time of the crash there was a rare grand trine involving Pluto, Saturn, and Venus, such that all were aspecting her Moon, although Pluto not quite close enough to count by my arbitrary 2 degree limit rule. NB. I am not saying Pluto doesn't count, far from it, here it shows the death of others, particularly her mother, who was travelling with her.

The transits at the time of Juliane Koepcke's aircrash were

The chart shown is Juliane Koepcke's birthchart, together with transits for the time of the crash around the outside. Aspect lines [traditional] are between the transits and her birthchart.

This example is possibly the best example of astrology that I could cite. We see in the moment that the Grand Trine of Pluto, Saturn and Venus, joined by a square of Sun and Pluto, is extremely appropriate for the aircrash, but that for Juliane the impact is largely with her Moon, Venus and Jupiter, showing why she was lucky enough to survive. You could sum it up as all the bad things can't touch the good, or perhaps that the material cannot destroy the spirit.

Frankly, I would defy anyone to look at this example and not be completely astounded, not only that this girl survived the crash, but that the astrological patterns were so appropriately in her favour. If this doesn't make you question what kind of world we are are living in, you are really not grasping how unusual and how meaningful this all is.
