Donald Crowhurst was a British businessman and amateur sailor who disappeared while competing in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, a single-handed, round-the-world yacht race held in 1968-69. Soon after starting the race, his boat, the Teignmouth Electron, began taking on water. Crowhurst secretly abandoned the race while reporting false positions in an attempt to appear to complete a circumnavigation without actually doing so. His ship's logbooks, found after his disappearance, suggest that stress and associated psychological deterioration may have led to his suicide. - Wikipedia

I would think that the transits show something of the enthusiasm, imagination, and sense of competition, that we could easily expect Donald to have felt.

While the outer planet transits remain the same as for the announcement of the competition, we see an involvement of Saturn not present earlier. This we could interpret as reality setting in, which is what occurs with the launch of the boat, as it is only now that Donald is able to sense that reality as he touches the boat, and it touches him.

After the Teignmouth Electron started taking on water, Donald Crowhurst's started to send in fake reports of his position, that claimed he was actually leading the race.


The chart shows a truly remarkable set of transits, because it is just Neptune and Chiron. You really have to feel some sympathy for the guy. All at sea, All alone, and deserted by the gods that had launched him on this fools errand. Except of course, those that would really make him feel it. Even the Moon was approaching, and would have passed, his conjunction of Venus and Mars, so that is all three gods of the water having a go.
