Aleister Crowley's background
Aleister Crowley was an occultist, writer, and mountaineer. Known as The Great Beast, he was thought by many at the time to be the wickedest man in the World.

What makes Aleister Crowley such a great example?
19040408 Birth of Aleister Crowley and 1904 Egyptian Revelation

While in Egypt, on 8th April 1904, the 20th century's most notorious and influential occultist, Aleister Crowley, had a revelation. He received an inspired text that would become known as The Book of the Law - described as a short and intense poetic book. The Book of the Law, or Liber AL, would come to define Aleister Crowley's magick, and it would become the central text of a new religion that still flourishes today.
The aspects at the time of Aleister Crowley's revelation were
- Transiting Sun opposite natal Sun

- Transiting Sun sextile natal Saturn
- Transiting Sun trine natal Uranus

- Transiting Mercury conjunct natal Neptune

- Transiting Venus sextile natal Mars
- Transiting Venus sextile natal Pluto
- Transiting Mars conjunct natal Neptune

- Transiting Saturn trine natal Sun

- Transiting Saturn conjunct natal Saturn

- Transiting Saturn opposite natal Uranus

- Transiting Neptune sextile natal Neptune
- Transiting Pluto trine natal Sun

- Transiting Pluto trine natal Saturn

- Transiting Pluto sextile natal Uranus
The chart shown is Aleister Crowley's birthchart, together with transits for the day of his revelatory experience around the outside. Aspect lines [traditional] are between the transits and his birthchart.
What has to be appreciated is that transits by Pluto and Neptune are one offs, never to be repeated during the person's lifetime [except as a continuation of the same transit due to retrogrades]. Similarly, transits by Saturn only repeat every 30 years or so. This makes this moment very much a singular time in Aleister's life - a truly momentous occasion. therefore, ipso facto, good evidence for Astrology.
