Amazing Muses's background
Excuse the alliteration, but the thing about muses that makes them such amazing examples of Astrology is that, by definition, their interaction with their partner is inspiring. That means that there is likely to be a high degree of meaningfulness to the relationship, so we should be able to see some clearer than average astrological connections, and that is the whole point of the exercise.
.
What makes Amazing Muses such a great example?
Alice in Wonderland

Alice Liddell was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll to write the books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland , and Through the Looking-Glass . There has been some debate over the detail of this fact, but the evidence is pretty clear, and the astrological evidence backs that up. However, the connection is not so clear between the two individuals as one might expect with a marriage, but when we look at the composite, all does become clear.
NB. The connections described are between the inidividual's and the relationship, not between one another. As such, there can be no hint of impropriety, especially not with the composite chart having the Sun and Uranus opposite Venus, and Jupiter opposite Saturn.
The composite chart having the Sun opposite Venus is unusual for Astrology, because in reality Venus is never more than 47 degrees from the Sun. However, the composite takes midpoints, and so we see a symbolism of difference that is impossible within one individual. It is also notable that the Sun is conjunct Uranus, giving the virtue of that vicious circle of ideas.
The chart shown is that for the composite of Alice Liddell and Lewis Carroll, with the birth of Alice as transits.
- The composite Sun conjunct the composite Uranus

- The composite Sun and Uranus opposite the composite Venus
- Alice's Mercury trine the composite Jupiter
- Alice's Jupiter square the composite Neptune
- Alice's Saturn trine the composite Jupiter
- Alice's Neptune conjunct the composite Mercury
- Alice's South Node conjunct the composite Jupiter
- Alice's North Node conjunct the composite Saturn

It is interesting that for Lewis Carroll, the composite presents a much more challenging circumstance, inspiring too. Alice only has to be audience, but Lewis has the harder job of actually writing the book.

Gala and Dali

Gala Dali was Dali's wife, and the model for many of his works of art, including the exceptional Galatea of the Spheres , and it is indicative of some distance in their relationship that he bought her a castle but was only allowed to visit her there if he gave notice in writing.
It is interesting to consider that for Salvador and Gala the Venus opposite Saturn connection worked, while for Neitzsche and Lou Andreas-Salomé the conjunction of Venus and Saturn did not, at least not in terms of fostering togetherness, which is unsurprising, given that Saturn is all about knowing difference.
The chart shown is the birth of Salvador Dali, with the birth of Gala Dali as transits.
- Gala's Sun trine Dali's Sun
- Gala's Mercury trine Dali's Mars
- Gala's Venus loosely opposite Dali's Saturn
- Gala's Jupiter conjunct Dali's Neptune

- Gala's Saturn loosely opposite Dali's Venus
- Gala's Chiron trine Dali's Mercury
- Gala's Chiron conjunct Dali's North Node
- Gala's Uranus opposite Dali's Sun
Isabelle Collin Dufresne and Dali

Isabelle Collin Dufresne aka Ultra Violet, could really be said to have had Dali as her muse, as it was he who inspired her to a career of surrealism.
.
It is interesting to consider that for Salvador and Isabelle the Venus square Pluto connection worked, at least for a while.
