Chris Cornell was the singer for Soundgarden , Audioslave , and Temple of the Dog . This last band was not the last band, but was a tribute to the death of his friend Andrew Wood of Malfunkshun , and Mother Love Bone

Chris Cornell and Andrew Wood were one time roommates, but Andrew Wood died of a drug overdose in 1990, which hit Chris Cornell very hard. It seems it was something that he could not get over, given his propensity for depression, and was likely a contributory factor to his suicide in 2017.

Chris Cornell and Andrew Wood were both born with a Venus Mars conjunction, and while Andrew Wood embodied the Chiron Uranus opposition [widespread among those born from the 50s to the 90s], together with the conjunction of Pluto and Uranus that marked out the mid-60s Hippy Summer of Love, Chris Cornell had that more loosely defined, plus retrograde Chiron, and Andrew Wood's Jupiter was conjunct his Venus Mars, all of which were more or less square both their Chiron positions. So it is easy to see why Chris Cornell would find so much in Andrew Wood, and be so taken aback by his loss.

The combination of Chiron and Pluto is often there when deaths occur, but the trines from Sun and Mercury make this all particularly impactful for Chris Cornell. Also, it is very notable that Venus had reached the Venus Mars conjunction of Andrew Wood, and that Mars was strongly placed and approaching that point as well. What really stands out is the fact that Chiron has reached the Sun Mercury position from the death of Andrew Wood, that so clearly affected Chris Cornell when his friend died. It is also worth noting that in this position Chiron is particularly strongly placed according to the Mandala structure of the Zodiac. Also, as with Andrew's death, Mars was approaching the Venus Mars conjunction, but Chris' this time.
