Ed Gein's background

Edward Gein was a serial killer who became the model for the character Buffalo Bill in the Silence of the Lambs. He was profoundly affected by his mother, Augusta Lehrke, and together the pair of them make an incredible example of Astrology.

What makes Ed Gein such a great example?

There are some remarkable connections from Ed Gein's parents' birthcharts to his own. Maybe this would not surprise astrologers, but bearing in mind his desire to be his mother [as with the Silence of the Lambs killer known as 'Buffalo Bill'], Ed Gein shares his mother's Mercury and Mars, very closely, and his North Node is on her South Node. They are not just all in Leo, but his Node is 2 degress from her node, his Mars is 2 degrees from her Mars, and his Mercury is only half a degree from her Mercury. Her Venus conjuncts a degree from his Pluto, which is a degree from being on his Ascendant, and his North Node on her South Node are both conjunct His Dad's Sun - all the more remarkable as this is where Pluto was transiting when he started raiding graveyards for bodyparts.

The chart shown is the birth of , with the birth of his mother as transits.

From the potential other astrological connections, and knowing how these tend to go to show actual life, it seems highly likely that Augusta was born close to midday, as shown, making Ed's Ascendant conjunct her Venus, as his was hers. This also brings into play the following aspects from her Ascendant.

And PS and NB, don't overlook the fact of his Mars being so close to where her Mars was, even though just greater than the arbitrary 2 degree limit that I set. That limit is not to say that aspects stop being effective, rather it is to limit examples to those where there can be less argument over the connection of sameness, and the increasingly coincidental nature of the connection.
