I think it's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights - Charlie Kirk - Turning Point USA event in Salt Lake City in April 2023

I wouldn't normally comment on the rights and wrongs of some happening, preferring to promote the astrological side of things, over the political. However, as the above graphic from www.gunviolencearchive.org shows, there are many, many 10s of thousands of people shot each and every year in the USA. Liars such as Kirk seek to minimise this as 'some'. Any sane person could only conclude that he was a complete arsehole.

Charlie Kirk was an influencer for the Right wing in the USA, whose many crimes against decency included

Kirk has said transgender people are an 'abomination to God,' calling trans identity a 'throbbing middle finger to God.' /b This is religiously condemning and dehumanizing; contributes to stigma and potential harm.

He argued for banning gender-affirming care nationwide, 'the entire country' should ban it, and urged candidates (Trump) to run on that issue. /b This is a policy to deny healthcare to a marginalized group.

Declared there are 'only two genders,' saying gender fluidity & transgenderism are 'lies that hurt people and abuse kids.'' /b Denies identities and experiences of trans and non-binary people.

He cited Leviticus 20:13 (which, in some translations, mandates death for men lying with men) as 'God's perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.' /b Many see this as endorsing very harsh, archaic punishments for homosexuality.

He promoted or echoed the 'Great Replacement' conspiracy - the idea that immigration threatens to replace white Americans. /b This is widely considered a racist and xenophobic conspiracy.

He complained about the Civil Rights Act, calling it a 'sacred cow' that prioritizes race over merit. /b Undermines a major piece of civil rights law intended to protect against discrimination.

On one occasion said: 'If I see a Black pilot, I'm going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified.'' /b This is a racial stereotype / prejudice, implying doubt about competence based purely on race.

He said to young women in an interview that 'having children is more important than having a good career,' adding there is a window for marriage/childbearing that women should prioritize before focusing on career. /b This suggests women should subordinate professional goals, reinforces traditional gender roles.

On his show, a guest (with Kirk's involvement) claimed that feminism 'told us it was about equality - they have done nothing but attack men - after they got the right to vote - it all went downhill.' /b Depicts feminism as destructive to society and to men; diminishes women's rights and equality movements.

He said abortion is 'never right to justify the mass termination of people under the guise of saying they are unwanted. That's how we get Auschwitz...' /b Comparing abortion to genocide/Holocaust is seen by many as hyperbole that trivializes historical atrocities.

Referred to COVID-19 as the 'China virus.' /b This kind of language is widely criticized for provoking anti-Asian racism.

He claimed, at a Trump rally, that 'Democrats stand for everything God hates,' and that 'This is a Christian state. I'd like to see it stay that way.' /b Suggests an exclusionary vision of state and religion; implies other religions or secular views are less legitimate.

He was shot on 10 September 2025, in Salt Lake City, by Tyler Robinson, someone we don't yet know much about. The expression 'Hoist by his own petard' springs to mind
